A 79-year-old man is nearing the end of his life due to metastatic bowel cancer. He is being cared for in a side room and it is felt that he is entering the final days of his life.He has a large family who have been visiting him regularly but after he is told that it is likely that he is entering the final days of his life, he says that he does not want anyone from his family to be in the room from this point onwards. They are devastated by this news, but he is adamant that he does not want their memory of him to include the sight of him dying.
