答案：The Damage of E-wasteElectronic waste, or e-waste, has become an issue of serious concern to the public as a growing number of electronic items are discarded in landfills every year. However, many people are not aware of its damage.E-waste represents hazards to not only the environment but also human beings. On the one hand, electronics like computers and cellphones contain many toxic chemicals. So when electronics are dumped or burned, they will release poison, polluting air, soil and groundwater. On the other hand, the improper disposal of e-waste also has adverse effects on human health. Research has shown that exposure to e-waste is closely linked to many diseases, even cancers.In my view, it’s high time that the damage of e-waste should be realized by the public and effective measures should be taken to cope with this issue. One idea is to put greater responsibility on the companies that produce electronics. It should be mandatory for them to recycle the abandoned items and dispose of e-waste in an environmentally-friendly manner.
