For composite beam, when the steel beam has a relatively high web height or a large width to thickness ration for the flange, the beam may already have local buckling failure before the whole composite section reach to the bending moment resistance capacity. For such composite beams elastic designing theory should be adopted for the ultimate limit state design. （ ）
